At the foot of Mount Ventoux
Located on a fertile plain, at the foot of Provence's Giant (Mount Ventoux) and the Dentelles de Montmirail, the city of Carpentras has retained vestiges of the Roman occupation and five centuries of papal presence.
It boasts a rich heritage and strong traditions. Its food specialities, including its famous "black diamond" (a truffle) and the famous Carpentras strawberry are to be found on the local market stalls.
Carpentras also is Raspail's homeland, as well as the place where the delicious berlingot (mint sweet) is produced.> Learn more :
