Cavaillon is hiding in the shadow of Saint-Jacques Hill , under the protection of the eponymous chapel. The town exudes a lively atmosphere and is renowned for its fresh fruit and vegetables.
Cavaillon is best known for its melons and its huge market, the more important market for professional gardeners in France. History plays its part in the city too : the Jewish Museum "Le Comtadin" retraces the saga of the Popes' Jews between the 13th and the 18th century.
